Sandra Gonzalez from J Barter Travel, in Cork was the first winner in Topflight’s current travel agent promotion. She won a holiday for two to Lido di Jesolo resort on the Venetian Riviera. Agents can enter by booking a Topflight summer holiday in Topflight’s End of Summer Clearance Sale to Italy, Lanzarote, the Algarve or Madeira, and you will be entered into the weekly draw.
The Commission for Aviation Regulation issued three new licences to Bravonext SA registered in Chiasso, Switzerland, trading as Lastminute.ie, Great Rail Journeys registered in York, England, trading as Rail Discoveries, Great Rail Journeys and GRJ (Independent), Premier Irish Golf Tours based in Tralee, and two new trading names, Sunrise Travel added to Prime Marketing and Gohop Group to Travel Management Solutions. A new tour operator licence was issued to Map Travel.
Mukesh Sharma, an industry leader in the travel trade in Belfast, will be stepping down as managing director of World Travel Centre in Belfast to launch an independent consultancy. Mukesh was MD for seven years, originally of Thriftaway Travel, which was purchased by WTC.
The Travel Industry Golf Society Captain’s Prize, hosted by captain Tanya Airey, will be sponsored by Travelport. On Tuesday, Septembe 6r. Venue will be Killeen Castle, Dunsany Co Meath and the format will be singles (Stableford) Ladies & Gents, playing in fourballs. Tee Time is 11.30am with a shotgun start:
