Fáilte Ireland has appointed marketing veteran Niall Tracey to its senior management team as Director of Marketing.
Tracey worked with Jefferson Smurfit before moving to Chicago to work at the DDB Needham advertising agency. Returning to Ireland, he worked at Bell Advertising and later Diageo, where he was Head of Lagers.
He also founded the Verve Arena agency, leading Aviva’s sponsorship of Lansdowne Road and led the Guinness Area 22 campaign and developed SuperValu’s community programme including Kevin Dundon roadshows & Ploughing Championship.
His career path is similar to that of his new boss, Fáilte Ireland Chief Executive Paul Kelly. Kelly also held positions as Marketing Director Diageo Ireland and European Marketing Director for Aviva and is also a graduate of UCD.
Paul Kelly said of Tracey: “We had a very strong response when we advertised this post – which speaks volumes about Fáilte Ireland’s reputation – and we interviewed a field of very high calibre candidates. After a very competitive process, I am delighted to welcome Niall on-board. He will bring a breadth and depth of marketing experience to our organisation and I am very pleased to have such an experienced and accomplished professional join our team.”
Mr Tracey will take up his new position this month.
