Survey shows sizeable proportion of people go to airport on wrong day for their flights

check in queueA survey of international travel by Dublin Bus has shown for the first time the number of people whop have fallen prey to confusing airline websites.

One in 25 people surveyed in a poll of holiday habits say they have arrive in the airport on the wrong day for a flight.

The survey found

  • 97pc have never forgotten their passport.
  • 13pc have missed a flight
  • 4pc have arrived at the airport for their flight on the wrong day.
  • 77pc travel on at least one foreign holiday each year.
  • 81p most enjoy travelling with family and friends
  • 7pc preferg to travel alone.
  • 59pc like to get to the airport two hours before their flight
  • 5pc like to get to the airport two hours or more before their flight
  • 72pc don’t like speaking to strangers sitting beside them on a flight.
  • 28pc like speaking to strangers sitting beside them on a flight
  • 20pc of Dubliners always write a list of what’s going into their suitcase before they start packing.
  • 71pc begin their holiday shopping (clothes, sun glasses, suncreams, beach towel, etc) 3 weeks before going on holidays abroad.
  • 53pc start packing the day before going away
  • 41pc start packing a week before heading off.
  • 54pc say the biggest annoyance in travel is those in front of them on the security queue not knowing what to do,
  • 32pc hate getting pulled aside because we forgot to take out that bottle of liquid or tweezers.

The survey was commissioned to publicised Dublin Bus‘s new 757 route serving the south side of the city which commences on Sunday, June 26th.
