Bristow Ireland has taken over Sligo search-and-rescue base.

The transition was completed at midnight on December 16 as the company transferred 32 crew members from the previous operator. The base will use Leonardo AW189 helicopters. Bristow operates from three of four Irish bases.

Philip Bartlett, Bristow Ireland director shared “Any operation of this complexity is going to have some challenges. The single factor was to have a seamless, as well as safe, transition from one operator to another.”
