Unions USO and CGT have called a partial stoppages at South Europe Ground Services at Madrid-Barajas Airport affecting mainly IAG-owned airlines including Aer Lingus, Iberia, British Airways and Vueling.
Strike dates are cheduled for December 23, 26, and 30 2025 plus January 2 and 7 2026. Disruptions occur between 8 AM to 12 AM and 6 PM to 10 PM daily. South Europe Ground Services handles the affected operations as an IAG subsidiary. Passengers face potential delays with options to rebook up to January 15 2026.
The unions say the action is in response to “repeated errors in payrolls”, which, they say, causes workers to “not receive what they are entitled to each month.” They are also demanding the payment of pending bonuses and denounce differences in treatment towards part-time employees, especially with regard to days off and vacations.
USO and CGT are also requesting a reorganisation of shifts to facilitate the reconciliation of work and family life, improvements in the training of new workers and the end to discrimination based on gender.
