Handling strikes continue at Spanish airports into 31 December 2025. Azul Handling workers for Ryanair are maintaining their weekly stoppages and partial strikes will affect Madrid-Barajas through South Europe Ground Services which handles Aer Lingus.
Both IAG and Ryanair say they are continuing to fly through the strikes with minimal effect. Negotiations remain unresolved at year-end and passengers are advised to arrive early for journeys. Airlines issued contingency warnings.
In Portugal industrial action at ground handlers Menzies will affect major hubs including Lisbon, Porto, and Faro where workers are demanding job security as contract tenders come up for renewal. Passengers risk delays and disruptions during the period while court rulings have mandated coverage for emergency and state flights.
