Etihad Airways has been awarded the Skytrax Certified 5-Star Airline Rating.
The rating follows a three-month audit of the airline’s global product and service offering by the London-based research consultancy.
Nine airlines have five star status, all of them in Asia or Australia: ANA All Nippon Airways Japan, Asiana Korea, Cathay Pacific Hong Kong, Etihad, EVA Taiwan, Garuda Indonesia, Hainan China, Qatar and Singapore Airlines
The announcement was made at Etihad Airways’ Innovation Academy in Abu Dhabi.
Skytrax evaluated list of 600 world carriers lists Aer Lingus among 40 four star airlines at 39th.
North Korea’s airline Air Koryo is rated as the world’s worst airline.
