Former Dublin destination Liège Airport loses last scheduled passenger service

Liège Airport has lost its last scheduled passenger service after TUI fly Belgium ceased operations on 4 January 2026. The airport now functions exclusively as a cargo facility. TUI fly Belgium served as the sole commercial operator since 1994 and withdrew in July 2025 due to unprofitability. Passenger flights contributed less than 2pc of revenue. Spokesman Christian Delcourt confirmed the airport remains open to resuming regular passenger flights but not before winter 2026.

The change follows Liège’s previous role as a destination for Aer Arann. Cargo operations continue without interruption. The decision reflects challenges for low-volume passenger services at cargo-focused airports. No immediate passenger resumption is planned. The airport maintains openness for future scheduled services.
