Tayto Park reopens after 9 injured in House of Horrors stair collapse

tayto-parkTayto Park in Ashbourne remains open today as investigations continue into the collapese of he lower portion of a permanent staircase leading to a ‘House of Horrors’ attraction during an after-dark Halloween-themed event last evening.

Gardaí were called to the park shortly after 8pm. A garda spokesman confirmed that nine people were taken to hospital. Most sustained cuts and bruises but one person is understood to have fractured a bone.

Tayto Park is the ninth most visited attraction in Ireland with 750,000 visitors.

A spokeswoman for the park said Those caught up in the incident were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. The management of Tayto Park will co-operate fully with the investigation as the safety of our guests is paramount.”
