Air Astana shareholders voted during an extraordinary general meeting on 15 January 2026 to confirm a firm order for five B787-9s with five options and five purchase rights.
The aircraft ordered from Boeing in November 2025 scheduled deliveries between 2032 and 2035. The confirmation aligned with Air Astana’s fleet modernisation plans. The order formed part of long-term widebody expansion.
