Ethiopian Airlines has revealed an order for nine additional B787-9 aircraft from Boeing, expanding its Dreamliner commitments to 20.
The deal supports network growth to 145 international destinations. This follows a November commitment for 11 B737-8s at Dubai Airshow, finalised in December 2025. Total Boeing orders reach 60, including 32 B737-8s, eight B777-9s, and 20 B787-9s. The carrier operates Africa’s largest B787 fleet with 20 B787-8s and 11 B787-9s.
The aircraft serve routes across Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa from Addis Ababa International. Orders aim for fleet modernisation and fuel efficiency.
