In response to the devastating train accident in Córdoba, Iberia has reinforced its air connections between Madrid and Andalucía with additional flights to Sevilla and Málaga.
This temporary measure aims to accommodate displaced rail travellers, with capacity increased by up to 20pc on key routes to mitigate the impact of suspended train services until February. The move highlights the aviation sector’s role in maintaining connectivity during infrastructure crises, though it has raised concerns about potential fare hikes due to surging demand.
