Dublin has been ranked the 20th most reputable city in the world. Sydney finished ahead of Vienna, Zurich, Toronto and Stockholm as the world’s most reputable city. Sydney last topped the list in 2013.
The ranking, in its sixth year, is compiled by The Reputation Institute (website), a reputation-management consulting firm based in Boston that launched in 1997.
The findings are the results are the product of a survey of 22,000 respondents in G8 countries who rated 55 cities on 13 criteria in the categories of Advanced Economy, Effective Government and Appealing Environment.
The survey deployed the reptrak scoring system. Scores were higher in 2016 due to an overall increase in trust in cities. Cairo finished bottom of the 55 ranked cities.
