Royal Caribbean International confirmed the Legend of the Seas will enter service earlier with its maiden cruise now departing Civitavecchia Italy on 4 July 2026.

The third Icon-class ship was originally scheduled for 11 July 2026 from the same port on a seven-night Western Mediterranean itinerary. The new date adds an extra sailing to the inaugural season.

The change results from faster construction progress at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland where the vessel nears completion. Guests booked on the original maiden voyage can transfer to the new date at no extra cost with the same or similar stateroom on a first-come first-served basis. Fares remain protected or reduced to current rates while the company covers certain air and hotel change fees.
