SMBC Aviation Capital confirmed the completion of a sale-and-leaseback transaction involving six Airbus A320neo aircraft for Lufthansa. The deal represents a new form of collaboration between the lessor and Europe’s largest airline group complementing years of leased aircraft placements and JOLCO financing. The agreement aligns with both parties’ focus on long-term strategic partnerships.
The A320neo family remains one of the most in-demand narrowbody platforms worldwide offering improved fuel efficiency reduced emissions and strong operating economics. The transaction supports Lufthansa’s fleet renewal strategy and SMBC Aviation Capital’s emphasis on young technologically advanced aircraft. Key representatives from both organisations attended the signing.
