Ryanair has increased its passenger numbers in Spain by 4.1pc for 2025 to reach 66.8m despite cutting winter capacity by 1.8m seats.

The Swords based carrier continued to strengthen its market position in Spain with strong demand on key routes even as it adjusted schedules for efficiency.

Ryanair remained Spain’s largest carrier, accounting for approximately 22pc of total capacity. The airline’s 4.1pc increase outpaced the broader Spanish airport network’s growth of 3.9pc, which handled a record 321.6m passengers in 2025.

While overall numbers rose, Ryanair reduced traffic at several regional airports, including Vigo (-61pc) and Santiago (-28pc), and ceased operations at Jerez and Valladolid.

Ryanair carried a total of 206.5m passengers across its entire European network in 2025, representing a 4.5pc year-on-year increase, its lowest annual growth rate since 2013, largely due to Boeing delivery delays.
