Puntland authorities have revoked the flight permit of Daallo Airlines for all airports in the region on 1 March 2026 citing safety concerns and regulatory violations.
The decision affected operations at Garowe and Bosaso airports served by the airline.
Minister Abdullahi Bile Nur signed the circular claiming the carrier endangered lives twice and breached aviation laws. Reports indicated a Daallo flight from Jeddah to Hargeisa diverted to Mogadishu on 1 March after denial at Garowe.
A similar incident occurred on 1 February when a Puntland delegation faced landing restrictions at Mogadishu. Daallo Airlines operated one DHC-8-Q400 and wet-leased Boeing 737 aircraft from Kenya Airways and Fanjet Express.
