European Cargo revealed plans to open an operating base at Teesside International Airport with five weekly long-haul cargo flights starting in 2026.
The airline deployed Airbus A340-600(P2F) aircraft from the new base focused on cargo from China.
Teesside currently handled limited passenger traffic from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Ryanair. European Cargo operated six A340-600(P2F) units primarily based at Bournemouth with a secondary base at Cardiff.
The airport invested in a new cargo facility to establish itself as a logistics hub for northern England.
