DHL Express Europe is to proceed with investment plans in the Middle East through 2030 despite the war in Iran. The Deutsche Post DHL group commits more than €500m in the region with focus on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Contingency measures include road connections from Europe and flights into Kazakhstan followed by trucking to the Middle East. Higher costs lead to a security risk surcharge for customers. The company views the Middle East as holding a key long-term role for its business.
