AirAsia X delays Bahrain London route launch

AirAsia X has postponed the launch of its Kuala Lumpur to Bahrain and London Gatwick service. The carrier has shifted the original 26 June date to 27 August 2026. Initial operations have moved into the middle of the third quarter of 2026.

The schedule adjustment has cancelled departures between 26 June and 26 August 2026. AirAsia X has reduced initial frequency to four weekly flights instead of daily service. Ramp-up to daily operations has become scheduled for 2 November 2026.

The long-haul carrier has continued to use 367-seat Airbus A330-300 aircraft on the route. The Bahrain stop has served as both a refuelling point and a strategic European gateway. The change has reflected adjustments amid broader industry delivery considerations.

AirAsia X shared “Flights are pushed back to August 27, 2026, cancelling all previously booked departures between June 26 and August 26.”
