Emirates Suspends A380 Flights to Several European Cities
Emirates has suspended Airbus A380 operations to eight European airports for most of June 2026 due to maintenance, reconfiguration and other factors. The carrier has operated an average of 58 daily A380 departures from Dubai International Airport but services have decreased by a quarter compared to the previous year. Routes to Copenhagen, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Glasgow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Munich and Prague have seen no or limited A380 flights.
Some routes have used the high-capacity 615-seat two-class layout while others employ 517-seat or 569-seat configurations. The airline plans to resume A380 services on these routes from 1 July 2026 with varying frequencies and seat configurations. Osaka Kansai and Perth have also seen A380 suspensions in June with returns scheduled for July 1.
Washington Dulles has followed a similar pattern with A380 return planned for July 1 using the 489-seat layout.
Francois Berisot shared “This connection is the second direct North American destination this summer.”
