Spain approves Turkish Airlines stake in Air Europa

Spain has approved Turkish Airlines’ acquisition of a 25-27pc stake in Air Europa. The council of ministers granted approval following a favourable report in May 2026. Turkish Airlines formalised the bid in November 2025 with a €300m investment.

The deal now awaits European Commission review. Turkish Airlines expects completion by the end of 2026.
