Foynes Flying Boat Museum opens expanded facilities

The Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum has opened new facilities that include the Event & Exhibition Hall, Blair Gallery and Sheridan Irish Coffee Experience. Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport Patrick O’Donovan TD performed the official opening on 12 June 2026. The expansion enhances the museum’s role in preserving aviation and maritime heritage.

JP and Noreen McManus provided support that enabled the developments. The new hall hosts gatherings and educational programmes. The Blair Gallery presents stories from aviation history while the Sheridan Irish Coffee Experience connects to the drink’s origins in Foynes.

Community representatives, board members and volunteers attended the event. Chairman Eamonn Brennan and the Board of Directors oversaw the project. The additions took place to strengthen visitor experiences at the site.
