Lufthansa has announced the expected delivery of its first factory-new A350-1000 in the fourth quarter of 2026. The aircraft, registered D-AIFA and bearing a blue 100th-anniversary livery, is currently at the Airbus facility in Toulouse. The airline ordered fifteen A350-1000s in total, with the first batch of ten ordered in March 2023 and an additional five on 20 December 2024.
The A350-1000 will seat 300 passengers in a four-class cabin and is equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines. The aircraft will be transferred to Munich for cabin work and final acceptance inspections. It will become the 700th aircraft in the Lufthansa Group and the seventh to feature the special anniversary livery.
Qatar Airways is currently the biggest A350-1000 operator with 29 in service, followed by British Airways with 18 and Cathay Pacific with 18. A total of 117 A350-1000s are in service with 13 airlines, with 239 more on order for 22 airlines.
