London Gatwick Airport has introduced England’s first robotic airport parking service, delivered in partnership with Stanley Robotics. Passengers can park in a private booth, keep their car keys, and let autonomous robots manage the physical parking process. Bookings are live on the Gatwick Airport Robotic Parking Page, with the first passenger vehicles using the service from August 2026.

Passengers pull into a private enclosed garage cabin near the South Terminal, scan their pre-booked ticket, turn off the engine, step out, and walk away retaining possession of their keys. An autonomous robot known as “Stan” slides beneath the vehicle, lifts it by its tires, and moves it to an access-restricted secure zone. Passengers share their return flight details when booking, and the system has the vehicle waiting in a collection cabin upon their arrival.

The facility is situated at the top of the South Terminal Long Stay Car Park. After dropping off the vehicle, travellers can walk directly to the South Terminal or use the free shuttle bus. The robots accommodate approximately 95pc of standard passenger car models with a max weight of 2.6 tonnes, max height of 2.3 metres, wheelbase limit of 3.3 metres, and maximum wheel diameter of 21 inches. Advance reservations are mandatory.
