  • Legend of the Seas has skipped Naples on two consecutive cruises in July and August 2026
  • Both cancelled visits were replaced with calls to Marseille on the same day
  • Royal Caribbean cited port restrictions and a recent dock assessment by the Italian Port Authority
  • The ship is scheduled to visit Naples weekly through the end of October
  • The vessel will reposition to Florida in early November for Caribbean cruises

Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas has skipped planned visits to Naples for two consecutive cruises, and guest reports on social media have documented these itinerary changes. The Icon-class ship, which entered service in early July, has been offering itineraries in the Western Mediterranean for its maiden season. The first cancelled visit occurred during the vessel’s 25 July 2026 cruise, which sailed between Civitavecchia and Barcelona.

The eight-night cruise originally featured visits to Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Naples and La Spezia, but the visit to Naples was cancelled the night before it was scheduled to take place. Instead of visiting the Italian port, the Legend of the Seas sailed to Marseille, adding the French port to its schedule. A similar itinerary change took place during this week’s cruise, with the visit to Naples scheduled for 7 August 2026 cancelled and replaced with a visit to Marseille on the same day.

Royal Caribbean has attributed the cancellations to port restrictions, mentioning a recent dock assessment by the Italian Port Authority and noting that current conditions on a pier in Naples prevent the Legend from visiting the port as planned. According to the published schedule, the 5,610-passenger ship is scheduled to visit Naples weekly through the end of October. The vessel is scheduled to reposition to Florida in early November for winter cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas departing from Fort Lauderdale.
