AeroEngines Europe from September 1 to September 2, 2026 at the CCL Lisbon Congress Centre is scheduled to focus on navigating complex changes in the engine aftermarket, supply chain vulnerabilities and escalating maintenance costs, taking place e. Organised by Aviation Week Network, the event brings together industry leaders to address geopolitical headwinds including evaluating the impact of international sanctions, shifting trade tariffs and routing disruptions on European aviation. Supply chain vulnerabilities and component shortages affecting maintenance capacity and shop-visit scheduling will be key discussion points.
Building scalable MRO capabilities and operations will be addressed, including aligning technician skills, specialised tooling and execution standards across different facilities during shop visits. Industrial readiness strategies to reduce engine turnaround times and stabilise shop capacity will be explored, alongside supporting maturing next-generation engine architectures like LEAP and GTF while keeping older engine generations like CFM56 and V2500 operational. Maintenance inflation and soaring maintenance, repair and overhaul expenses against rigid airline budget constraints will be examined.
Ownership versus leasing models will be compared, including traditional engine ownership and power-by-the-hour flexible payment models where airlines pay based on actual engine run hours. Fleet planning strategies will consider spare engine availability, residual asset values and overall financial strategies. The conference will also review real-world case studies using Artificial Intelligence in engine maintenance and deploy digital platforms to streamline engine lifecycle tracking and prediction.
