EasyJet has established a new operational benchmark for the carrier, having transported in excess of 343,000 passengers on August 31, 2026, across more than 2,000 flights. The airline is operating its largest-ever summer schedule from England, with 39 million seats having been allocated for the season and 53 new routes having been introduced to destinations including Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. England airports alone accounted for more than 196,000 of those passengers on the record day, with Palma, Faro, Alicante and Milan ranking among the most frequented destinations for late-summer travel.

The airline has expanded its England fleet by adding eight Airbus A320-family aircraft to bases at Bristol, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow, with Newcastle having officially commenced operations as a new base during 2026. The capacity increase of 500,000 seats compared with the previous summer season reflects the carrier’s strategy of capturing peak holiday demand, particularly during the August bank holiday period when many travellers took last-minute trips. The 343,000 figure on August 31 surpassed previous daily carryings, demonstrating the scale of the airline’s network utilisation during the peak summer period.

The record performance occurred against the backdrop of a broader European aviation landscape where low-cost carriers have reported substantial passenger growth. easyJet’s achievement coincided with the airline having focused on affordable connectivity across its European network, with the August bank holiday Monday having served as the culmination of the summer season’s busiest travel period.
