Pegasus Airlines and AirAsia have launched a codeshare agreement for the Kuala Lumpur – Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen route, marking the first codeshare partnership in AirAsia’s history and opening for sale from 2nd September 2026. The agreement enables Pegasus guests to book flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Kuala Lumpur operated by AirAsia X through Pegasus’ own sales channels, with check-in and baggage handled to the final destination.
The codeshare connects Pegasus’ network of 161 destinations across 57 countries with AirAsia’s extensive Asia-Pacific network of more than 140 destinations. AirAsia X has operated the Kuala Lumpur – Istanbul route four times weekly since November 2025 and plans to increase frequency to daily by February 2027. In the other direction, AirAsia guests can connect at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen onto Pegasus flights to destinations including London Stansted, Moscow Vnukovo, Zurich, Athens and Ankara.
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport serves as the natural connecting point between Europe and Asia for both carriers. The two airlines have indicated plans to extend the partnership to additional destinations across both networks, with Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Kuala Lumpur functioning as the primary connecting hubs. Pegasus Airlines, established in 1990, adopted its low-cost business model following acquisition by ESAS Holding in 2005.
