- SWISS has announced new Business and Senator lounges at Zurich Airport for 2027
- The 2,600 square metre lounges offer 20pc more space than existing facilities
- Features include soundproofed workstations, wine humidor and cheese maturation room
- Zurich Airport is replacing Dock A with a new terminal building
SWISS has announced plans to debut two new lounges at Zurich Airport in the first quarter of 2027, with Business and Senator facilities housed in a newly constructed building on the southern side of Dock B. The 2,600 square metre lounges offer 20pc more space than the existing Dock A facilities and feature fully glazed window fronts with views of the apron, runways and the Alps. Features include 20 soundproofed workstations, a wine humidor and a maturation room for cheeses and cured meats in the Senator lounge.
The new lounges will be located directly above the bus gates, shortening the distance to boarding gates for some customers. SWISS will close its existing Business and Senator lounges in Dock A along with its Alpine Lounge when the new facilities open. The Star Alliance carrier plans to relocate its First and HON Circle Lounge from Dock A to Dock B in 2028, completing the transition to the new facility.
Zurich Airport is undergoing a multi-stage renovation programme, including a revamp of the Airport Shopping area and plans to replace Dock A, which opened in 1985. Construction will begin on a new terminal building to the north of the existing structure next year, expected to be one of the largest airport docks built largely of wood when it opens in the early 2030s. SWISS operates flights to Zurich from multiple airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham.
