Aer Lingus has released booking data highlighting the most popular destinations for Irish travellers this autumn and winter. London, Paris and Amsterdam lead European city breaks, while New York and Boston top the transatlantic list. Off-peak sun spots such as Málaga, Lanzarote and Faro are also in strong demand. The airline is running a sale with discounts of up to 30pc on short-haul flights and long-haul fares including from €199 each way to New York.
Festive interest is rising in Munich for its Christmas markets, alongside Vienna, Prague, Berlin and Budapest. Complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi is expanding across the long-haul fleet to enhance connectivity. Chief Customer Officer Susanne Carberry noted growing preference for travel outside peak summer, with the sale making off-peak trips more accessible.
The data highlights a growing trend of people travelling outside of the peak summer months. Alongside classic European getaways, transatlantic travel remains highly coveted. The most booked European city break destinations are London, Paris and Amsterdam, while New York and Boston continue to see strong demand across the Atlantic through the colder months.
