For the second consecutive year, Rosewood Hong Kong secured the No. 1 spot. In the world’s 50 best hotels 2026 awards.
The fourth edition of The 50 Best Hotels was revealed at an awards ceremony in Paris and features hotels spanning six continents worldwide. The awards ceremony united the global travel and hospitality community to celebrate the world’s finest hotels at Les Salles du Carrousel. This marked a historic milestone for the organisation, as it was the first time the ceremony took place outside of London since the awards launched in 2023.
Asia dominated the top tier of the list, with Capella Bangkok climbing to No. 2 and the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River claiming No. 3. Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal rose to No. 4, while Lake Como’s Passalacqua took No. 5 as the highest-ranking European entry.
While Asia held the highest podiums, Europe led the overall count with 21 hotels featured on the top 50 list, driven primarily by properties across Italy and France. Raffles London at The OWO was named number 28.
The 50 Best Hotels 2026 was revealed as part of a live countdown from number 50 to number 1. The ranking is complemented by a series of special awards alongside the extended 51 to 100 list and reflects the best travel experiences around the globe collated from the votes of more than 800 anonymous experts.
Italy and France each had six listed hotels, England, Japan, Mexico and Thailand four each, Hong Kong three, Brazil, Indonesia , United Arab Emirates: and United States two each, and one hotel each from Australia, Austria, China, Greece, India, Monaco, Morocco, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland and Türkiye
