- Great Stirrup Cay pier hosts first double call
- Norwegian Prima joined by Norwegian Getaway
- New pier opened in August 2026
- Great Tides Waterpark offers 19 waterslides
- 30 additional double calls scheduled through end of year
The new Great Stirrup Cay pier has hosted a double call for the first time this past weekend according to Norwegian Cruise Line. The company celebrated the milestone in a social media update noting that the operation marked a first in its history. Spending its first summer in the Caribbean the Norwegian Prima was joined by the Norwegian Getaway for the double call.
Sailing from PortMiami the Getaway was offering a three-night weekend cruise to the Bahamas that also featured a visit to Nassau. The Prima visited Great Stirrup Cay as part of a seven-night itinerary that departed from Port Canaveral earlier this month. In addition to the private island in the Bahamas the cruise also featured visits to destinations in Puerto Plata, Tortola and St. Thomas.
Built as part of a series of improvements taking place in Great Stirrup Cay the new pier opened in August 2026. Earlier this month Norwegian also marked the opening of the new Great Tides Waterpark at the private island. The park offers 19 waterslides in addition to an 800-foot-long dynamic river and a series of other water features. Great Stirrup Cay is set to host two ships at the same time on multiple occasions through 2026.
