Norse Atlantic is suspending its London Gatwick to New York JFK and Rome Fiumicino to New York JFK services from 25 October 2026 through 27 March 2027. The cuts remove around 83,000 two-way seats and leave Gatwick to Orlando as its only scheduled US route that winter. The airline is instead prioritising Thailand routes with increased frequencies from several England and Scandinavian cities.
The budget carrier halted its flights connecting New York to both London Gatwick and Rome Fiumicino starting 25 October 2026 through 27 March 2027. Affected routes were scheduled to run three times a week using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The move pulls roughly 83,000 two-way seats from the market.
The flight cuts leave London Gatwick to Orlando as Norse’s only remaining US route operating during the winter season. This network reduction marks a pivot from Norse Atlantic’s initial low-cost, transatlantic-heavy business model. Facing fierce transatlantic competition and softer seasonal demand, the airline is shifting its fleet of Boeing 787s toward high-demand winter leisure markets. The carrier is expanding its winter frequencies to destinations like Bangkok, Phuket and Cape Town out of European hubs like London, Oslo and Stockholm.
