First flights have already begun on selected routes including Rome to Jeddah and Budapest to Amman, with the majority restarting between 25 and 27 October. Destinations highlighted include Dubai beaches and shopping, Abu Dhabi cultural sites, Jeddah historic districts and Amman ancient attractions.
Wizz Air restored 12 Middle East routes starting progressively between September and late October 2026, offering 49 weekly flights across four primary regional destinations. The airline reinstated connections to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah and Amman from nine European cities after rolling back operations due to regional conflict and airspace disruptions. Abu Dhabi receives 20 flights weekly with launches on 25 October from Budapest and Katowice, and 27 October from Larnaca, Sofia, Krakow and Cluj. Dubai receives 12 flights weekly with launches on 25 October from Bucharest and Budapest. Jeddah receives 14 flights weekly with launches in early September from Milan and Rome, and late October from Budapest. Amman receives three flights weekly with launches on 22 September from Budapest.
Unlike its previous regional presence, Wizz Air is not reopening its local joint-venture base via Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. Instead, these routes are flown as destination-only services operated entirely by its European-registered airlines. The low-cost carrier initiated the phased comeback following updated conflict-zone recommendations issued by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency alongside independent security evaluations. One-way ticket prices for the restored schedule are currently open for booking on the official Wizz Air website and mobile app, with promotional winter fares starting as low as €24.99 depending on the specific origin city.
