Flight operations across Ireland are experiencing disruptions and warnings of potential delays due to severe weather from Storm Boelo. Following a period of heavy rain and wind from Storm Austen earlier in the week, Irish weather services and airlines are actively advising passengers to monitor their travel schedules this weekend.
An active Weather Orange warning is in place today, 24 October, until 14:00 for gale-force winds with damaging gusts. Met Éireann warns that this will likely lead to public transport and air travel disruptions.
Extended warnings continue from Saturday evening through Sunday, 25 October. This includes an Amber wind warning for the north (Antrim and Derry) and wider Yellow wind warnings across the island.
Aer Lingus stated they currently plan to operate their full schedule but have advised all passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport and to allow extra travel time.
While airports are working to remain fully operational, severe crosswinds frequently trigger delays, aborted landings, or diversions to alternative airfields.
