World Routes 2024 will take place in Bahrain

Routes World 2023 has concluded with a handover ceremony, where Bahrain was announced as the host for Routes World 2024.

The 28th edition of Routes World was successfully hosted by iGA Istanbul Airport in partnership with the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA).

The event, held in Istanbul from 15th – 17th October, brought together 600 senior executives from 260 airlines and over 3,300 aviation professionals, making it the largest Routes World event to date.

Dublin and Cork airport had stands at the event. Attendees included companies like easyJet, Delta Air Lines, Air France, Emirates, and Turkish Airlines.

The event provided a platform for airlines and airports to establish new routes and explore opportunities in trade, tourism, and diplomacy, and featured exhibition stands, panel discussions, speeches from aviation experts, and over 13,000 collaboration meetings.

The success of iGA Istanbul Airport was highlighted by Mehmet Kalyoncu, a Board Member, and Ismail Hakki Polat, the Deputy Manager, during respective panel discussions. They emphasised the airport’s focus on passenger satisfaction, city integration, efficiency improvements, and sustainability.

Selahattin Bilgen commented: “It was very valuable to see industry professionals from different countries around the world establish so many new connections in a short period of three days and to witness their productivity and foresight in planning the future of our industry. We are aware of how busy the aviation industry is, so we are grateful for this valuable time. This organisation brought representatives from 215 countries and allowed key players in the aviation industry to come together on a global scale. We wish Bahrain all the best as they host Routes World 2024 next year, and we thank you all for attending Routes World 2023, which has been a huge success.”
