Kerry Airport experienced a 15pc increase in passenger numbers during the main summer months from May to September 2023.
The combined inbound and outbound passenger figures on all Ryanair routes saw a rise of nearly 27,000 over the five-month period. Sun routes to Faro and Alicante were still operational until the end of October and the beginning of November respectively.
Kerry Airport’s CEO, John Mulhern, attributed the positive figures to the ongoing support from Ryanair destinations and the introduction of a new seasonal Chalair service to Brittany, France. These factors are helping the airport surpass the passenger numbers from 2022, which marked a 96.3pc recovery from the pre-Covid highs of 2019.
