Happy birthday Finnair, 100 years old yesterday. Established on November 1, 1923, Finnair is now the world’s sixth oldest airline in continuous operation.
The airline has grown from its Finnish roots to become an iconic carrier known for its stylish Nordic service and membership in the oneworld alliance.
Finnair offers frequent flights from Dublin to Helsinki, as well as direct flights from Edinburgh, Heathrow and Manchester. Easy transfers are available with all flights departing from the same terminal.
Despite recent geopolitical events affecting flight routes, Finnair has adapted its strategy to continue offering worldwide flights with its distinctive Nordic style.
To mark the centenary, Finnair has planned special celebrations at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, including performances, virtual reality experiences, and a raffle for departing customers.
The airline has made significant investments in an enhanced customer experience, including a new Business Class concept (AirLounge), Premium Economy cabin, and refreshed Economy Class cabin.
Finnair has been recognised as a five-star airline by APEX and named the “Best Airline in Northern Europe” for the 13th consecutive year.
