Volaris, a low-cost carrier based in Mexico City, has laid off 200 employees due to operational adjustments necessitated by ongoing inspections of its Pratt & Whitney engines.
The airline plans to prioritize rehiring these laid-off personnel once the inspections are completed and capacity recovers.
Volaris operates a fleet consisting of A320neo Family jets, including A320-200Ns, A321-200Ns, and A321-200NX models, some of which are currently grounded for maintenance. The carrier has also ordered an additional 142 A320neo Family aircraft from Airbus.
