The Travel Corporation (TTC) has released its third annual impact report, which it says  emphasises transparency and commitment to sustainability through decarbonization efforts and a net-zero commitment.

TTC measured the carbon footprint of over 700 trips in 2023, aiming to identify areas for reduction impact, potentially setting an industry first with this level of analysis.

In the first year of the Carbon Fund implementation, TTC reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 31pc and Scope 3 emissions by 5pc from the 2019 baseline, allocating over USD 1.88 million to 13 decarbonization projects.

Initiatives include ending the purchase of branded merchandise to reduce carbon emissions, allocating funds to nature-based climate solutions, and partnering with VisitScotland and The Travel Foundation to accelerate decarbonization in the tourism supply chain in Scotland. Additionally, TTC volunteers contributed 10,862 hours towards sustainability goals.

I’m immensely proud of TTC leadership for taking such bold action, particularly through prioritising investments in carbon reductions through TTC’s Carbon Fund, and equally of the way our teams have embraced this transition happening as a business and to our sector.”
