Aer Lingus to host Kansas & Iowa next year after 2024 draws record TV audience

The 2024 Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium set new viewership records with 5.0m viewers on ESPN in the US.

ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot broadcast from Dublin attracted 1.6m viewers, up 41pc from the previous most-watched Week 0 show in 2022.

The event was a sell-out with 47,988 fans attending, including 28,406 international visitors, contributing significantly to the local economy.

The ‘Much More Than A Game’ initiative included various events throughout the week, generating a direct economic benefit to Ireland estimated at over €115m, reinforcing Dublin’s position as a top destination for international sporting events.

The 2025 Aer Lingus College Football Classic will be between Iowa State and Kansas State on August 23rd, 2025, a rivalry known as “Farmageddon.”
