Ethiopian Airlines has received its first A350-1000, making it the first African carrier to operate this aircraft type, with the delivery occurring on November 4 at Toulouse Blagnac.

The newly delivered A350-1000 (ET-BAW) features Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines and is configured with 46 business class and 349 economy seats, with a second aircraft expected in December and two more by late Q1 2025.

Initially, the first A350-1000 will be used for promotional flights to eight destinations until the arrival of the second aircraft, after which both will serve the Washington Dulles route.

The introduction of the A350-1000 is expected to enhance Ethiopian Airlines’ premium service on key routes, including Washington D.C., London Heathrow, Paris CDG, and Frankfurt, with a particular advantage on the slot-constrained Heathrow route.
