Air New Zealand is entering the winemaking industry with its own label, ‘Thirteen Forty Five’, named in honor of the airline’s inaugural flight from Auckland to Sydney in 1940, covering 1,345 miles.
Created in partnership with Villa Maria, part of Indevin Group, the wine label will feature a signature sauvignon blanc and pinot noir, available exclusively to Air New Zealand passengers.
The wines are crafted specifically for consumption at high altitude, ensuring that the flavor profiles are optimized for both in-flight dining and lounge experiences.
Starting in March, ‘Thirteen Forty Five’ will be offered in premium economy cabins, lounges, and through the Airpoints Store, with additional availability during ‘Koru Hour’ on select domestic flights.
