Westminster Transport Secretary Louise Haigh announced the formation of a new task force to improve accessibility for passengers with disabilities.

An Aviation Accessibility Task and Finish Group will led by Paralympian Tanni Grey-Thompson and including members like Sophie Morgan from Rights on Flights, will involve airlines such as Jet2, Virgin Atlantic, Ryanair, and British Airways, which recently launched a Customer Access Advisory Panel focused on the same issues.

Over the next nine months, the taskforce will assess challenges faced by disabled travellers and recommend actionable changes, aiming to enhance their travel experience and dignity.

Despite improvements noted in the Civil Aviation Authority’s latest Airport Accessibility report, some English airports still require enhancements for accessibility, with the group aimed at ensuring all passengers receive adequate support.
