The Lost Flight a talk by Peter McGarry on the Alitalia Flight 618 loss at Shannon will take place tonight at Ennis Museum, 7pm, December 11, 2024
Alitalia Flight 618 crashed shortly after take-off from Shannon Airport on February 26, 1960, leading to serious injuries for many of the 52 passengers on board.
Peter McGarry’s book “Falling Stars” documents the history of Shannon air crashes, receiving significant media attention and sales since its 2023 release.
McGarry is co-authoring a follow-up book titled “Rising Stars” about 1950s aviation, coinciding with a notable Pan-American flight in 2025.
The Clare Museum will host a lecture series covering various topics related to history and archaeology, starting at 7:30 PM.
