Airbus is cutting 2,043 jobs in its Defence & Space businesses, reducing the earlier target of up to 2,500 job cuts.
More than half of the job cuts, affecting 1,128 positions, will occur in the Space Systems business following €1.5bn in recent write-downs.
The job reductions will be completed by mid-2026, with significant impacts in Germany (689 positions), France (540), England (477), and Spain (303).
Airbus will hold off taking an immediate restructuring charge, pending talks with unions, and has outlined plans to cut additional jobs in the Air Power and Connected Intelligence sub-divisions.
