The new Noise Action Plan for Dublin Airport (2024-2028) has been published by Fingal Council, designed to address ongoing issues with night-time aircraft noise, highlighting that exposure levels above 55 dB Lnight have increased since 2019.
Dublin Airport is on track to meet the Noise Abatement Objective (NAO) but must further assess and mitigate noise levels in compliance with relevant regulations.
The Plan outlines 17 existing noise mitigation measures and emphasizes the need for public consultation and stakeholder engagement in additional noise management initiatives.
Data from the 2023 noise exposure calendar year has been incorporated into the Plan to reflect the current operational climate of the airport, especially following changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the use of a three-runway system.
