Aer Lingus has launched Apple’s Find My Share Item Location feature, enabling customers to share the location of their AirTag or Find My accessory with the airline for improved baggage recovery.

Customers can generate a secure link through the Find My app on their Apple devices, which assists Aer Lingus in locating delayed or mishandled baggage more efficiently.

The privacy and security of customers are prioritized, with location sharing automatically ending upon baggage recovery, or expiring after seven days.

This technology enhances the travel experience, as Aer Lingus aims to provide seamless services, ensuring peace of mind for travelers with baggage concerns.

Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer, shared: “At Aer Lingus, we are dedicated to ensuring our customers enjoy seamless travel experiences. Integrating Apple’s Share Item Location feature allows us to further enhance our baggage recovery processes, offering customers additional peace of mind as they fly. While over 99% of checked baggage arrives at its destination without any issue, this feature assists us in the rare instances where a bag is delayed. Share Item Location will assist us in locating the checked baggage item and returning it quickly.”
