Spirit Airlines has filed for court approval to sell and lease back four A321-200NX aircraft to JSA International Holdings as part of its Chapter 11 restructuring process from Dublin-based Jackson Square.

The transaction, which was pre-agreed in October 2023, involves the delivery of the first aircraft scheduled for December 19, 2024, with subsequent deliveries set for early 2025.

An expedited hearing is scheduled for December 17, 2023, following Judge Sean H Lane’s acceptance of the request due to the looming delivery dates.

Spirit Airlines currently operates a fleet that includes a significant number of leased A321-200NXs and is looking to enhance its financial stability through strategic leasing agreements during its bankruptcy proceedings.
